Baggallini's Are In!

What are Baggallini's?

Baggallini's are awesome bags available in unique colors, fun fabrics, various styles, and lightweight durability. The bags are known for their incredibly organized and well thought out compartments that women truly use. These bags were designed and invented by two veteran flight attendants in 1995, Dixie Powers and Ann Simmons who recognized a need for more functional and fashionable tote bags, handbags and travel accessories.

Baggallini, Inc. was founded on the belief that baggs can be functional and fun to carry, and to this day they continue to build bags that deliver on this promise.

I am the first to say that I truly love these bags - my favorite is the Uptown Bag, which is the number one seller for Baggallini, Inc. See the picture below. Also available are the Bon Voyage, Uptown Bagg, Teenee Hampton Bagg, and Jewelry Square (this is fantastic for those of us that travel with a lot of jewelry), and it's priced right at $15 and makes a great gift too!

For additional information, click on the Baggallini website which shows all their products. I can order any of these for you if you see one you like that I am not currently carrying in the store.
www.baggallini.com

Father's Day and What to Buy Dad!

It's always a dilemma, what do I get for my dad or husband? They either have everything or don't know what they want, and clothes are sometimes just too hard to buy!

For the dad or husband that works from home or has his own office I have some fabulous suggestions. Small desk clocks, bookends, trinket boxes or a nice looking frame look great on a desk.

For the dad that travels frequently (see picture below) we have a black distressed wood photobox frame that has a wonderful quote (see picture below). They retail for $55 each.

Does your husband like to camp, fish, or just like being outside in the warm weather months? Then how about a wood or metal lantern to hang or set on a table.

For the sophisticated wine or beer drinker we offer beautiful hand painted pilsner and wine glasses by Momo Panache ranging from $15 - $20 each. We also carry stone drink coasters in a variety of patterns and colors.

We have a lot of other goodies too - stop by and check them out! Just 5 more days to Father's Day!

Set of 4 Pictures with Brown Suede Matting - $130

Accessories and why we love them!

Accessories are what makes your house a home. It's a reflection of who you are and how you live. Nothing is worse than to fill a beautiful room just to "fill" it with stuff. It should be about the life of a person or family. When I pick accessories I never go into a store looking for a bowl, picture, vase, etc., instead I look for a piece that I love and find a way to work it into my space. If it doesn't work then I make it work somewhere else in my home. Some of my favorite pieces are ones that I've received from my mother, husband, family member or friend or one that I've purchased while on vacation. One of my favorites is a glass wine carafe and cordial set that I bought for my mom at a neighbor's garage sale when I was 8 or 9. They were from Germany and I thought the glass was so beautiful; goldish bronze in color. I think it cost me a whole $1.00! Many years later she gave it back to me, and I have kept it in my curio cabinet ever since. I still love it!

When you think about decorating a room, it's really not the first thousand or so that goes into the room, it's the finishing touches that pull it all together, and that's why accessories are so important. Sure, you can obsess with buying the perfect sofa or bed, but in the end it's a place to sit or sleep. Instead a beautiful slate box on a table or a crystal lamp next to a bed shows interest about that person and evokes interesting conversation as well.

Accessories can be a lot of things - artistic, classic, energetic, colorful, textured and so much more, but in the end it's up to you, and what you connect with for your home and family. And so, I've included a small sampling of some of the latest accessories that have arrived in the store. Many more will be arriving over the next couple weeks and I will continue to post new pictures so be sure to check back frequently.

I love helping customers pick out accessories, but what's more important is that they love them for their home!

Beautification Award given to Grande Trunke Home!

There has been a lot of positive news for Grande Trunke Home and I couldn't be happier. For those of you who receive the South Lyon Herald Newspaper, you may have read the article about Grande Trunke Home being awarded the Beautification Award by the SL Chamber of Commerce. What a surprise to me! My husband, Jerry and I were also invited to the awards banquet last Friday evening out at Tanglewood Golf course where all the other award recipients celebrated their successes.

Yesterday we also hung our South Lyon "People's Choice" Awards for Best Speciality Shop and Best Gift/Card Shop for 2008. Again, I cannot express enough my appreciation to the residents of South Lyon and the surrounding areas for their support of my store. It's so satisfying to know inside that I made the right decision for me personally; doing what I love to do, and for the community of South Lyon; giving residents a local place to shop when they need to pick up a small gift or home decor piece for their home. My objective is to always provide my customers with excellent customer service and the most unique products at reasonable prices.

Thank you South Lyon!

Following is the link to the article published in the April 24th edition of the South Lyon Herald if you did not have a chance to read it. You may have to paste this into a browser window.

http://www.hometownlife.com/apps/pbcs.d ... 6230721484

I've included several pictures of many of the items we received to give you an idea of the type of new items inside Grande Trunke Home.

In addition, Silver Forest earrings arrived yesterday! These earrings are hand crafted in Vermont and are very unique. The philosophy of Silver Forest of Vermont is to create wearable art that transcends fashion trends. They are very pretty and fun too!

Silver Forest earrings are made of lightweight copper/brass and the stones are semi-precious (garnet, onyx, amethyst, jasper, etc.). The finishes are tarnish resistant and the earwires are all a high quality surgical steel base with a durable 18K gold finish. There is NO NICKEL used in the plating process, so Silver Forest earwires are certified nickel-free. This is a significant benefit to metal sensitive customers who can buy these earrings with confidence.

Once you see these earrings you are very likely to want a pair! Silver Forest will also give you one free pair of your choice earrings after 5 pairs are purchased.

Happy shopping!
